Dana White announces the retirement of Undisputed UFC Heavyweight champion Jon Jones – Interim UFC Heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall will be promoted to undisputed. Aspinall has always said he’ll retire Jones without fighting him.

Jon Jones, who recently retired from fighting, is facing misdemeanor charges in New Mexico, USA for leaving the scene of a car accident that happened on February 24, 2025. A woman involved in the crash was found intoxicated and partially undressed and told police that Jones was the driver who fled on foot. During a phone call, a person believed to be Jones appeared heavily intoxicated and made threats implying violence. When questioned by police later, Jones was evasive and made allusions to violence though didn’t identify himself. He claimed the woman had left his house earlier that day and he denied involvement in the crash. The woman said she drank alcohol and consumed mushrooms at Jones’ house and had no memory between leaving his house and the accident, but remembered Jones driving before the crash. Jones is scheduled for a court arraignment on June 24, 2025. Jones addresses the situation on social media.

“As Jon’s lawyer, I am stunned by the Albuquerque Police Department’s decision to charge him in this new case. It is truly unbelievable that the police would waste this amount of resources on such a case. The only thing I can think of is that the police were targeting Jon for improper purposes.”

“You never know what Jon Jones is dealing with and then you wake up the next day [and there’s new criminal charges]. Who knows. I don’t know everything that went into this decision. It’s something you guys are going to have to ask him if you ever see him again. All I know is he made it very clear that he wanted to retire and I don’t disagree with him. I saw it today. When I saw it today I said everybody’s going to think this is why he retired. Maybe that is why he retired. Who the h*ll knows. I don’t know. These are all questions you’ve got to ask him. We had the fight done. You saw me talking about it very confidently that this fight was going to happen and he changed his mind.”

Pakistan has announced plans to nominate U.S. President Donald Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize, crediting him with helping to negotiate a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. The Pakistani government praised Trump's "decisive diplomatic intervention" during the recent crisis calling it evidence of his peacemaking role. India rejected claims of U.S. mediation and maintains that it does not seek third-party involvement in its disputes with Pakistan. Trump, who has previously expressed interest in receiving the Nobel Peace Prize hasn’t commented, nor have officials from Washington or New Delhi.
A day after nominating U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, Pakistan condemned the U.S. strike on Iran’s nuclear facility calling it a violation of international law. Pakistan’s foreign ministry expressed serious concern over rising tensions in West Asia and warned of dangerous consequences. It also emphasized Iran’s right to self-defense under the UN Charter.

India will not reinstate the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan and will divert the water for domestic use according to Home Minister Amit Shah. U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Iran had agreed to a "Complete and Total CEASEFIRE" following Iran’s limited missile strike on a U.S. base in Qatar which was in retaliation for American attacks on Iranian nuclear sites. Iran stated it would stop its attacks if Israel ceased operations by 4 a.m. Tehran time. Although Israel did not confirm any agreement, its airstrikes reportedly ended around that time. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi denied a formal ceasefire deal but indicated Iran would halt further action if Israeli aggression stopped. Trump later declared that a phased 24-hour ceasefire would begin at midnight Tuesday (ET time), marking what he called an "Official END" to the war.
