Hey — I’m Clement, founder of 88Combat. I’m based in Toronto, ON 🇨🇦, and I’ve been a combat sports fan since I was 11 (shoutout to Georges St-Pierre vs Jon Fitch at UFC 87 – first fight I watched). I started 88Combat to make it easier for fans to keep up with the nonstop world of MMA and boxing.

Combat sports are different from traditional team sports — every fighter acts like an independent contractor, promoting themselves to stand out. That creates a hectic, decentralized media landscape where it’s hard to keep track of what actually matters. Unlike team sports where news flows through organized leagues and teams, fighting is a free-for-all — and that’s where 88Combat comes in.

Think of it as your weekday roundup — all the major MMA and boxing news, delivered in a quick, under-8-minute read from Mon-Fri. You’ll also occasionally find coverage of pop culture, music, tech, finance, and other stories worth knowing.

Long-term? I’d love to turn 88Combat into an events brand — hosting watch parties and building real-life community around the sport we love.

Oh, and the name? No deep meaning. I just like the number 8 – I doubled it up because 88 has a nice ring to it.
